Okay, so I'm in the process of designing a site. But I don't know how to make a clickable link that downloads to the computer.
If anyone knows of a guide or can tell me in a simple way suitable for blondes please post or PM me =]

if you don't want to look through that, download is as simple as a link. Basically, first you have to upload the file you want to be downloadable, then go to the page you want the download to be on, and in the place you want it, type: Text here, or if you want a pic, type it's URL in <> those Just so you know, pictures are put in by typing
This is of course if you are using HTML. Hope it helps ^^;

How to make Downloading Files For Your Web Page 1. Pick a file. Let's use the spot.pet file. spot.pet 2. Next make a Zip File of the spot.pet file. spot.zip 3. Link to a picture of spot the dog. spot.bmp 4. If the picture is in BMP, change it to JPG or GIF. spot.jpg or spot.gif 5. HTML code to link picture to Zip file. or <a href=”spot.zip"> Your link will be a picture on your web site, something like this. When you click on the picture on your web site the download window will open. Or you can link to a text. Here is how to do it. Follow the above steps 1 and 2, skipping steps 3 and 4. You will write the HTML code for step 5 just a little different. 5. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD It will look like this on your web site. CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD Click on the text on your web page the download window will open. If you do not Zip your File downloads will not work!
