On PS2 the petz can have kids, but the sims can't. If you've playe dthe PC one then you'll be disappointed. I've never played teh PC one so I don't know. I like PS2 one, but the PC one is much better.

The sims 2 pets is just like one big freeform game, you dont get objectives or anything apart form to unlock townies. I mean you have apsirations but not golden or platinum ones, just green ones. And you just have to keep your sim and pets happy and get high in your job, so sometimes it gets boring. Whereas in the Sims 2 you have objectives in one mode with golden and platinum aspirations and to geT further in the game and unlock new stuff you gotta complete these apsirations and you have freeform mode where you create a house and family and just randomly play. So I guess you can do everything else.
I have both Sims 2 pets and Sims 2 on PS2 because my comp is too old and decrepit to have them on.

In the PS2 game only the animals can have children, the sims can't. Nothing can die, and like Kiran said, it's a big freeform game.

Sims2 pets on the PS2 is the ****piest game ever. The controlls are stupid and hard to use, even for a Ps2 master mind! ;/ So, Sims 2 pets for the ps2=****. Trust me,i own it :/ complete waste of money.
