Kayso, long story short, i'm mostlikelyprobably getting a new digital camera for my birthday, and I've been looking into quite a few cameras.
I'm open to any recommendations, really, because i have no idea where to start from. I'd like something more than your household digital camera, but a little less than a professional camera. Does that make sense?
So yeah, recommend away, as many as you'd like, as often as you'd like. Share stories, too, state some downsides to the camera, you know (:

Problbly the most proffessional like camera I've had is this one: www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=10689&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=5184But anyway, as far as pictures goes it does take pretty good pictures ^___^ The main downside I notice to it is when I use macro mode (If you don't use that you don't have to really worry) its takes awhile for you to be able to focus in correctly (its hard to explain what it does, but it just feels iffy-ish to me) It doesn't take good night photo's (But then again I've never had a camera that has) It does have a nice menu and such and easy to use buttons ^^ Don't ever fall down when holding it, because it will stop working, but it didn't scratch at all XD (I wasn't careless with it either. Then I have this old camera that I've always been careless with and its fallen loads of times and it still works) And erm well I'm not sure what else to say about it X3 Especially since you pretty much don't really know what you want it, except you want it to be semi-profesional. (I was the same way when camera looking... except I wanted a proffesional camera, but they're to expensive X3 I was going to get a $300 Canon but the Staples guy said this one was better so I dunno XD) Hopefully that was erm somewhat helpful XD

my first dslr was the Epson E300 which is a retired model now but quite cheap even with a macro lense! I think you can get them on eBay but if not you'll likely find them second hand in profesh. camera shops.

a nikon d60 or a canon rebel xti to me those are like middle base cameras but that's probably just because i like to call myself a photographer when i have no experience at all and i think that the big huge cameras are the professional ones
