*cough* couldn't find any thread relating to the German Spitz and if this is the wrong category please don't mind. I didn't want to open this thread in the "Breeding" category because I don't think it fits there either.
Well then... I'm just too curious whether or not I'm the only one who are seriously breeding the German Spitz, especially the Grosspitz. Maybe there are at least a few people out there who are greeding those wonderful dogs who can help me to make the breed more popular. As far as I know Supernova is the only one who created breed files for those dogs.
Why the Grosspitz? Well, I have to admit, with their solid black, white or brown fur they are not as striking in their appearance as a blue merle Collie for example but they are are adorable and loyal dogs and absolutely worth to receive mor attention.
When I first played Petz 5 I concentrated more on breeding Australian Kelpies as they are my favourite dog breed in real life; I very soon focused on breeding blue and chocolate brown Kelpies with tan markings. One day I discovered the Grosspitz on Supernova's Petz site and initially fell in love with it. I was quite sure that there are loads of people breeding Kelpies and Australian Shepherds and whatnot and so it was quite easy for me to apply myself to the Grosspitz. In real life it's the second tallest and the rarest of all German Spitz breeds. Strictly speaking it is critically endangered although it is just too perfect for all those who want to have a middle-sized not too complicated dog.
Some months ago when I started breeding the Grosspitz I did it just for me but now I decided to let anyone out there know what I'm doing. Maybe some of you end up with breeding this wonderful breed temselves?
I don't have a website for my dogs at the moment but I'm thinking of creating one. Nevertheless, I've come up with a very fitting kennel name already: Dodo's Realm
In my opinion it fits just too perfect because if they don't succeed in preserving the real Grosspitz, it's just a matter of time and this beautiful breed will go the same way as the dodo bird did some centuries ago.
