...plugging them because I totally love them, lol, AND I've found a new one that totally kicks BUTT. Everyone should bookmark these! You'll never have to use corbis/getty for a webpage again, lol! Enjoy being on the right side of the law 1) gimp-savvy.com/PHOTO-ARCHIVE/index.htmlA compilation of photos from Fish and Wildlife Administration, NASA, etc. Since they're produced by the government, all of them are non-copyrighted I've been having so much fun with this. [Note that the search is not entirely reliable since the database is relying on users to help define search terms and idiocy abounds there] 2) scriptorium.lib.duke.edu/eaa/search.htmlAdvertisements from 1850-1920, collected, compiled, and searchable. There are also several really nice s****books in the collection as well that you can browse. REALLY good quality images and scans. Worth a look. All or almost all of this stuff has fallen out of copyright. 3) memory.loc.gov/ammem/Only some of this will be out of copyright (look at the dates!), and it's a bit harder to find useful pictures, but the ones that I've found are really neat (for example, there's a panorama collection!). Search is at top - there used to be a function to search only the photos, but I don't know where they've hidden it... oh well. Anyway, I've just been having a lot of fun with those and I thought I should spread the love. :3 Don't know if this is quite the right place, but oh, well...
