^ I know changing the face of the breed, if you mean the bmp that it shows in the AC, has to do something with replacing the bmp files that are under the big file "BMP"... I believe you might be able to replace it using "Action -> Replace Bitmap" Okay, buncha questions. First of all, five seconds of glee for what I hexed this morning: onwards... - Where do I need to be looking in the LNZ to change the nose color on -catz-? I found a tutorial which explains it for dogz - a very long, complicated process because of the nose shine. Is it the same (!) or should I just twiddle with the stuff under Addballz? - Is there an easy guide to understanding how paintballz work anywhere? They're befuddling me a bit - especially the x, y, and zs. Is there a good paintballz-for-dummiez tutorial or do I just have to fiddle with them? - Tabby stripes. What the hey are they made of? Addballz? Texture? I've seen evidence for a bit of both. Part B of this... I eventually want to try and hex a catz with lynx (tabby) points. Would this be easier to do with textures or addballz stripes? (I'm thinking addballz, but wiser minds than me need to slap me around here) Many thanks to all who can answer those.... pretty odd questions, I know. I'm going to keep fiddling with ResHacker in the meantime

Some of the nose is in "Addballz" Some of it is in Ballz info. You just paint it as you would do any other ball
To do Dogz you just change the colour of the outline, and the outline thickness [not complicated!]
Ok! Paintballz!
XYZ These are the directions that the ball goes in.
X - whether something is to the left or to the right If it is, say, -2 then it is to the Left of the screen (so right on the pet). 2 would be on the opposite side. This is handy for seeing what side something is on, or swapping an eyepatch etc.
Y- Up or down. - means up, + down (I think! double check that).
Z - however, X and Y dont strictly work alone. the Z value does, er, something hard to describe. its the place on the actual ball (rather than the screen's value of it).
Its hard to say exactly where what goes, and is best down to experimentation.
The parts on the body are done using textures. The bottom of the legs and tail are Addballz. To have any breed with tabby stripes i'm not sure is possible (as they are integral to the file). You might have to a) Convert the LNZ of one breed into the tabby file - it'll look like the other breed but have the tabby texture and personality (I do this when I want a maine coon texture - i dunno if theres another way) b) Find the BMPs inside the tabby file (its at the top) and save them externally, then link to those. Then go through and check the texture numbers on your breed -and have these correspond to the tabby stripes

To make a docked tail you have to write -99 on the 6th column in ballz info and this deletes the ball. Then get your dog out and if the pup has a long tail which grows to a short one when they are adult, then go to the puppy lnz and delete all the numebrs under ball size override, not the actual text but all the numbers. then it shud work! =D

Actually. It is a lot easier to go to [omissions] and add the ball numbers to there.
This is the place for "ballz to be ignored" and I dont think you'll need to fiddle with override either

Oh ok sorry I didn't know, but if people don't know about ommisions thats the easier way =D

a bit more correcting, omissions are way easier.
All you do is write the ball numbers you want excluded in a long list
so [omissions] 57 58 59 60 61 62
would get rid of a tail. no need to delete any Linez business, and its easily reversable compared to trying to remember what the number was instead of -999

okay. I have reshacker. I open the breed up and comes up with:
+ [pic of folder] icon
+ [pic of folder] icon group
in the left hand column. Nothing else shows up. when I open these files there are only icon pics. What should I do to get to the actual dog info?

It's okay now. Dumb me was looking at the wrong files. PlaidButterfly helped me out. EDIT: here is my first hexing attempt. It's gone a bit wrong though. See those orange marks on the ears and mouth? I need toget rid of them but I'm really not sure how to with reshacker. can you help me? BTW if anybody wants it when it's fixed it overwrites the jack russel (petz5). Just ask if you would like it. I call it the herbal Hound. lol. EDIT: Okay no point. I accidently deleted the adoption centre jack russel pic and saved it and now I can't go in the adoption centre so I'll have to delete the breed now. I loved it too. It would have been great if I could've fixed it. Oh well.

How do you remove the variations in a dog breedfile, whereabouts do you do it?
Basically i have a black lab with red eyes but when i breed them they dont have the red eyes - I am using the breedfile i made the dog with and when they come out of the adoption centre they are ok. Am i missing something?

You need to "tag" it, like
#3.A Red #2 Blue #1 Yellow ##
and
#3.A Red #2 Blue #1 Yellow ##
If there is a "tag", ie #highestnumber.A(or any other letter) and the amount of variaitons are the same, then they will work together
